Millions of years ago, much of Almería was submerged beneath the sea, creating the conditions for the vast underground network of caves found here today—one of the most remarkable in Europe.

After a scenic drive through stunning karst landscapes and past gypsum quarries, we’ll explore a spectacular cave under expert guidance. Discover the cave’s fascinating history as you admire dazzling gypsum crystals sparkling in the torchlight.

Following the cave visit, enjoy a relaxing lunch before we head back to your hotel.

Practical Details:

Due to narrow spaces inside the cave, this trip is not suitable for those with limited mobility

Hotel pick-up and drop-off included (Vera Playa / Mojácar Playa area)

Pick-up time: Approximately 9:30 am

Duration: Cave visit lasts about 1.5–2 hours

Equipment provided: Torch and helmet

What to wear: Comfortable clothing and sturdy walking shoes or boots

Hotel return: Approximately 4:00 pm

Is the cave visit suitable for everyone?

Is it physically demanding?

The walk through the cave involves some bending, steps, and walking on rocky terrain, but it is not overly strenuous for most active visitors.

Will I be safe inside the cave?

Absolutely. You’ll be guided by experienced professionals and provided with a helmet and torch. Safety is our top priority.

What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable clothes and sturdy walking or sports shoes with good grip. The temperature inside the cave is cooler, but not cold.
